In 2003, the Sateri Holdings Limited (formerly known as the Sateri International Group) acquired the Klabin Bacell S.A. and Copener Florestal Ltda, giving them the name of Bahia Pulp S.A. At the time of purchase, Sateri was already planning to expand the enterprise, extending the range of products to be produced by the unit. So it was that in 2008, the company consolidated its plans for expansion with the implementation of its second industrial line. This project raised design production capacity from 115,000 tonnes per year to 465,000 tonnes per year.
