Aug 11, 2008 Bahia Pulp carries Community Planting Program ExpoRural 2008
Bahia Pulp is one of the expository in the event ExpoRural 2008, that goes until 17th August, in the Exhibitions Park of Salvador. In the company’s stand, visitors can know details of the Community Planting Program, created to engage rural producers of the region in the Bahia Pulp’s productive process of eucalyptus. The interest parties can register to receive the visit of the technicians in their properties.
The Program stimulates rural producers to destine part of their properties to the eucalyptus cultivation to complement the wooden supply of the Bahia Pulp mill, in Camaçari. Through this program, the company assures the purchase of the wood produced, paying values previously determined by contract. Part of the production be freely used by the producer.
One of the advantages for the rural producer is the fact that all the planting cultivation stages – the planting of seedlings, maintenance, eucalyptus harvest and transportation – are accomplished by specialized companies, hired by Bahia Pulp. Another advantage is that the company with partners its forest technology, contributing for the cultivation success, for the diversification of the rural activities in the region, for man's stay in the farm and for the remainders maintenance of native forest.
ExpoRural
Agricultural event promoted by the Bahian Association of Horses Creators (ABCC), in partnership with Seagri (Agriculture Secretariat of State of Bahia) and it is in its tenth edition. It gathers about 6.500 animals, come in goats, sheep, cattle, horses and small animals, such as exotic birds, which participate in fairs and national and state exhibitions. Moreover, there are exhibitions of organic products, flowers and ornamental plants, as well as auctions, training, lectures and seminars, proofs of turf and team penning.
