Bahia Pulp signed partnership with APAE (Parents and Friends Association of the Exceptional) of Salvador for the training of 15 individuals with special needs, aged from 16 years. The young people will be able to work as gardeners and landscapers. The course was especially prepared for these students, who have the opportunity of developing skills and competences to act in companies, condominiums, residences and other places.
According to the Bahia Pulp Human Resources coordinator Maria Ester de Souza Cerqueira, the bias still is the great challenge to be overcome when if it comes to accepting people with special needs. Maria Ester says that, with this project, the company sets a positive example to transforming this reality. “We expected a demand both in the landscaping and gardening areas. But our biggest reason is to qualify these people so that they can seize the opportunities to work in any company, "she says.
