Bahia Pulp renewed its financial and institutional support to the programs of Junior Achievement (JA) Bahia. In the state since 2004, the association works in partnership with more than 40 public and private schools, benefiting more than 20 thousand young people. About 1,300 volunteers, mostly employees of partner companies, help the projects.
Since 2006, Bahia Pulp is one of the maintainers of JA Bahia. Due to this partnership, in 2008, 150 students from Alagoinhas participate of the Minicompany Program. In this, they could develop the "entrepreneurial spirit, the leadership capacity, determination and responsibility, the courage to take risks and the teamwork". Twenty company's employees and its third party acted as volunteers, ministering workshops for young people.
Established in the United States in 1919, Junior Achievement is a nonprofit educational association, maintained by private initiative.
JA provides economic and practical education programs and experience in the system of free enterprise, through the partnership between schools and the entrepreneurial class volunteers who dedicate part of their time teaching and sharing their experiences with students. Its goal is "spread the seed of entrepreneurship among young students, giving them a clear view of the business world".
Currently, more than 120 countries implement its programs, benefiting more than 8.5 million young people per year. In Brazil, operates in all states, where more than 1 million young people have participated in the programs of the Association.
