May 19, 2009 Bahia Pulp hires former students from Apae Salvador

A group of 18 trainees of the Professional Training and Monitoring Center (Cefap) of Apae (Association of Parents and Friends of Exceptional) Salvador participated in the selection process for employment in Bahia Pulp. Nine of them are been employeed. Two of them will work in gardening and seven as assistant general services. The training course was funded by Bahia Pulp.

The Bahia Pulp Human Resources' analyst Juliana Junqueira Ayres visited Apae and spoke with students, who are individuals with intellectual disabilities, about the company's activities and the work routines in the pulp mill. Juliana explained that the new employees will have, as any other Bahia Pulp employees, benefits such as medical and dental assistance, food, private pension and life insurance group.

Juliana says that "is very important for the mobilization of business practices based on values of human diversity". Excited to see how these people feel able and motivated, she said that "it is rewarding work and be responsible for the development of employees with special needs, enabling them to acquire new skills and improvement of its potential".
