Nov 17, 2009 Bahia Pulp will participate of the 2nd Citizenship Fair
Bahia Pulp will participate of the 2nd Citizenship Fair, to be held on November 28 in Camaçari, Bahia. The company will offer environmental education activities. The Citizen Fair is coordinated by COFIC - Committee for Industrial Development of Camaçari, through its Social Responsibility Committee, in partnership with SESI, City of Knowledge and the Camaçari local government. The action aims to provide to the people utilities in the areas of health, information technology, vocational guidance, educational, recreational, sporting and cultural and recycling workshops.
The Citizenship Fair was held for the first time in 2008, as part of the celebrations of 30 years of the Camaçari Industrial Complex, benefiting 10 thousand people. According to research done in days of the event, the satisfaction of the attended people during the event was 93%.
Due to the good results achieved in the first issue, with direct benefits for the population which live around the Camaçari Industrial Complex, Cofic wants to keep the Citizen Fair in its annual calendar of activities, allowing the community learn more about the industries of the complex and offering services that contribute to the citizenship promotion.
For the participating institutions, Citizenship Fair is an excellent opportunity to practice the culture of corporate volunteering, disseminating good practices of social responsibility and sustainability with positive impact on people's lives, and establishing relations with local stakeholders. The companies in the Camaçari Industrial Complex are assuming more and more the commitment to social responsibility, whose investments are greater than R$ 13 million per year. The contribution for the community is through the social-educational, sporting, cultural and environmental awareness actions, involving public schools and community leaders.
