Apr 30, 2010 Ecological Restoration Communitary Seminar
Bahia Specialty Cellulose (BSC) held, on April, the 1st Ecological Restoration Communitary Seminar, designed to sensitize and empower the community for the ecological restoration of the Forest Ring in Camaçari and Dias Avila. The event - a result of a partnership with Cofic - Committee for Industrial Promotion of Camaçari, Incecc - Ecological Corridor of the Coconut Coast Institute and the municipality of Camaçari, had the participation of more than 50 people. The seminar had the duration of two days and included theoretical and practical activities, conducted by specialists in the areas of Biology, Forestry and Agronomy, in the Cidade do Saber in the Garden and Forest of Camaçari.
"A second edition of the seminar is scheduled for the end of May, in celebration of the World Environment Day", said the BSC Communication Coordinator Eliete Luiza. "The event is part of a joint effort among the partner institutions, all mindful of the need to restore and preserve this important area of native vegetation, which will bring social and environmental benefits for communities neighboring the Camaçari Industrial Complex," emphasized Eliete.
